Description
ERUTM128-100 1280×1024 Uncooled Infrared Thermal Core Module — 100 mm Lens
The ERUTM128-100 is a 1280×1024 uncooled infrared thermal core module built around a 12 µm vanadium oxide (VOx) detector, paired here with a 100 mm athermal objective. That combination produces a 8.8° × 7.0° field of view and a calculated detection range of approximately 9450 m against a human-size target — the long-range flagship of the 1280 × 1024 series.
Like the rest of the ERUTM128 (1280 × 1024) family, the core delivers NETD of ≤30 mK, 25Hz / 30Hz / 50Hz real-time output and ≤1.2 W power consumption, so it can be embedded in battery-powered and space-constrained platforms without a dedicated thermal design.
Why the 100 mm lens
A 100 mm lens reduces the field of view to 9.0°, so the 1280 × 1024 detector can resolve targets at several kilometres. Motorised focus and continuous-zoom alternatives (25–75 / 28–90 / 30–180 / 30–300 mm) are available on the same core when the field of view must change in the field.
Field of view, detection distance and pixel density on target are all governed by the focal length. The table below shows how the ERUTM128 series behaves across its lens options, so you can match the module to the distance your project actually operates at.

Designed for OEM Integration
The ERUTM128-100 is supplied as a bare core so that system integrators can mount it directly against their own optics, housing and processing board. With dimensions of 68 × 69 × 24.7 mm (motorised / continuous zoom housing) and the interface set listed above, it fits platforms where a complete camera would be too large.
Integration support covers interface-board selection, communication protocol documentation, lens alternatives, mounting geometry and firmware parameter tuning. Where a project needs a different field of view, the same core is available with other focal lengths in the ERUTM128 series.
Typical Applications
With a 100 mm lens the ERUTM128-100 is most often specified for:
- Coastal and maritime surveillance at several kilometres
- Border security and long-range perimeter monitoring
- Critical infrastructure and perimeter protection
- Long-range observation posts and elevated sensor masts
- Counter-UAS detection projects requiring maximum stand-off

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the field of view of the ERUTM128-100?
The 100 mm lens delivers a 9.0° × 7.1° field of view — the longest reach in the ERUTM128 series. The field of view is set by the 100 mm athermal objective; other focal lengths in the ERUTM128 series are available if your project needs a wider or narrower scene.
How far can the ERUTM128-100 detect a person?
With a standard human target of 1.7 m × 0.5 m and a 2 K temperature difference, the calculated detection range is approximately 9450 m, with recognition at approximately 4700 m. Real-world range varies with target size, thermal contrast, atmospheric transmission and the display or software used for evaluation. Our engineers will run the DRI calculation for your specific target and lens choice on request.
Why choose the 100 mm lens?
A 100 mm lens reduces the field of view to 9.0°, so the 1280 × 1024 detector can resolve targets at several kilometres. Motorised focus and continuous-zoom alternatives (25–75 / 28–90 / 30–180 / 30–300 mm) are available on the same core when the field of view must change in the field.
What is the thermal sensitivity of the ERUTM128-100?
NETD is ≤30mK @ F#1.0 / 25℃, measured at 25 °C with an F#1.0 aperture. Lower NETD means smaller temperature differences become visible, which matters when contrast is low — for example at long range or in humid air.
What interfaces does the ERUTM128-100 support?
Digital video: DVP16 / BT1120 / USB3.0 / MIPI-DSI-4LANE (expansion: USB3.0 / SDI / HDMI / GIGE / CameraLink / VPC / MIPI-CSI-2LANE). Communication: TTL-232 / USB3.0. Supply: 2.7V – 5.3V. The interface board can be exchanged at the factory to match your processing platform, and the ERUTM128 series supports Windows and Linux SDK integration over USB 3.0.
Does the ERUTM128-100 support OEM / ODM customisation?
Yes. As a manufacturer we can adapt the lens, interface board, housing, mounting, firmware features and packaging to your project. Custom configurations are quoted individually — send us your target distance, platform, interface and volume and we will propose a configuration.
Request a Quotation
We do not publish fixed prices because every project differs in lens, interface, housing and volume. Send us your target distance, platform type, interface requirement and estimated annual quantity, and our engineers will return a configuration proposal and quotation for the ERUTM128-100.
