CIOE 2026 Wrap-Up: A Busy Three Days of Thermal Imaging and Laser Ranging in Shenzhen

September 2026 | Shenzhen, China

ERDI (ERDI-infrared) exhibited at the 27th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE 2026), held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center from September 9 to 11, 2026. Our team welcomed visitors at Booth 8C01/8C02 in Hall 8 — the Infrared Technology & Application zone — presenting our latest uncooled infrared thermal imaging modules, laser rangefinder modules and aiming solutions to customers from around the world.

Three Busy Days at the ERDI Booth

From the opening morning, the ERDI booth attracted a continuous flow of engineers, system integrators, distributors and end users. Visitors gathered around the display cases to examine our thermal imaging cores and laser rangefinder modules up close, while our engineers handled a steady stream of technical questions about detector resolution, thermal sensitivity (NETD), lens selection, interfaces and integration support.

Traffic stayed strong across all three days of the show. Many visitors returned with colleagues, requested evaluation samples, or booked follow-up meetings — a clear reflection of the rapidly growing demand for compact, high-performance thermal imaging solutions in UAV, security, industrial inspection, firefighting, marine and robotics applications.

Thermal Imaging Modules That Drew the Crowd

The centerpiece of our booth was a complete line-up of uncooled infrared thermal imaging modules built on 12 μm pixel pitch detectors:

  • ER64-25 and ER64-35 thermal imaging cores — 640×512 resolution, 25 Hz / 50 Hz frame rate, 8–14 μm operating wavelength and NETD ≤ 50 mK, in a compact 21 mm × 21 mm form factor weighing no more than 13 g. The ER64-35 adds radiometric temperature measurement for industrial and inspection applications.
  • ERUSTM64-9 — our newly released 640×512 thermal imaging module with quantitative temperature measurement, which drew particular attention from visitors working on industrial diagnostics and equipment monitoring.
  • ED64NT, MD84LR and ED128S-XHR thermal imaging products — covering long-range observation and multi-scenario deployment.

Because every project has different optical, mechanical and interface requirements, most conversations quickly moved beyond datasheets into real system design: flight altitude, detection distance, target size, weight budget, video interface and environmental reliability. Several visitors brought their own platforms and prototypes to the booth, which allowed us to discuss integration directly on the spot.

Laser Ranging and Aiming Solutions

Alongside the thermal imaging line-up, we showcased our laser ranging portfolio under the ERDI LASER brand, including 1535 nm eye-safe laser rangefinder modules and 905 nm laser rangefinder modules, together with our optical waveguide sight, thermal-red dot hybrid sight and smart aiming system.

These products support a wide range of mission profiles — airborne platforms such as UAVs and electro-optical pods, land vehicles and security platforms, maritime and coastal monitoring, and security applications where eye-safe operation is essential. For visitors building drones, robots, AGVs and intelligent targeting equipment, combining a thermal imaging core with a compact laser rangefinder in a single system proved to be one of the most discussed topics at the booth.

Meetings, Technical Feedback and On-Site Orders

Beyond product demonstrations, CIOE 2026 proved to be a productive commercial platform for ERDI. Our team held back-to-back meetings with customers from Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East, covering OEM/ODM cooperation, customized optical configurations, interface requirements and volume supply planning.

Interest translated into business on the spot: visitors requested quotations and evaluation samples during the show, and several orders were placed directly at the booth. Equally valuable was the technical feedback we collected — comments on lens options, housing design, SDK documentation and temperature measurement accuracy have all been recorded and passed to our R&D team, where they will shape our product roadmap for the coming year.

About ERDI

ERDI TECH LTD is a high-tech manufacturer specializing in the development and production of eye-safe laser ranging products, laser illumination and uncooled infrared thermal imaging modules. The company was founded on a simple belief: that precise measurement and illumination should be accessible to every industry.

Our team works closely with talent and resources from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and the Institute of Optics and Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. More than 30 dedicated R&D engineers support customized development, while a strong after-sales team helps customers and channel partners get the most from our sensors.

Manufacturing is built around automated production lines with an annual capacity of 10 million units, managed under 5S principles. Every product passes IQC (incoming quality control), production circuit testing and burn-in, together with reliability, environmental and aging tests. Our products hold GB/T19001-2016 / ISO9001:2015 certification, along with EU CE and US FDA approval.

Today ERDI products are used in more than 160 countries across North America, South America, Europe, East Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and our customer application projects cover thousands of different industries — from industrial and agricultural automation, warehousing and logistics, construction and intelligent robotics, to security, energy, medical and biomedical fields.

About CIOE 2026

CIOE is one of the world’s largest optoelectronic exhibitions. The 2026 edition brought together more than 4,000 exhibiting companies and ran alongside two related trade shows, covering a combined exhibition area of 320,000 square meters, with more than 90 conferences held in parallel.

The Infrared Technology & Application exhibition focuses on infrared materials, chips, modules, thermal imaging systems and related detection technologies — precisely the field ERDI works in every day. Meeting system integrators, detector suppliers and research institutes in one place is one of the main reasons we return to CIOE year after year.

Looking Ahead

If you were unable to visit us in Shenzhen, our engineers are happy to help. Whether you need advice on selecting the right thermal imaging module for your project, a custom OEM/ODM configuration, or evaluation samples, please contact us — we normally reply within one business day.

Thank you to everyone who made CIOE 2026 a success. We look forward to meeting more partners at the next industry event.
